The Robe on the Road truck was making it’s way up to the Edinburgh Fringe at stopped at Veo on the way, giving everyone who came along the chance to get up close with some of Robe’s latest lighting fixtures and see them in action through a series of live demonstrations. Robe has a broad range of moving lights and other lighting equipment, so there was plenty to explore.
A chance to get hands-on
One of the best parts of the afternoon was being able to see the fixtures properly demonstrated rather than just looking at them on a spec sheet.
There was plenty of time for questions, conversations and a bit of lighting geekery, with guests able to explore the different fixtures and see what they can do in a real-world environment.
Alongside the Robe truck, we also had some of our own lighting hire stock on display, giving visitors the chance to see more of what we have available at Veo and get a feel for the equipment we work with on events across the UK.
Behind the scenes at Veo
We also gave guests the chance to have a look around our warehouse and office space.
For us, this was a great opportunity to show people a little more of what happens behind the scenes at Veo. From the equipment stored in our warehouse to the teams working behind the scenes to plan and deliver events, there’s a lot that goes into getting everything ready before a piece of equipment ever reaches site.
It was great to be able to open that up to people from across the industry and give them a better idea of what we do.
Pizza, beer and good conversations
Of course, no Veo event would be complete without food and drinks.
Renegade Brewery kept everyone refreshed throughout the afternoon, while CHOCAHOG Outside Catering supplied the pizza. Between the lighting demos, warehouse tours and conversations, there was plenty of time for everyone to grab some food, have a drink and catch up with other people working in the industry.
And that was really what the afternoon was about, bringing people together.
We had a brilliant turnout, with lots of familiar faces alongside plenty of people we’d never met before. It was great to spend some time talking to other professionals in the events and production industry, sharing experiences and, naturally, getting excited about some very impressive lighting fixtures.
